Facebook and Instagram campaigns

Meta Ads · Management, audit, setup

Meta ads that bring sales, not likes.

Facebook and Instagram campaigns that work toward profit. Best result so far: €1,850 spent, €10,000 generated. No “boost” tricks, no empty promises, no waiting three months to find out whether it works.

Myths

Three myths about Meta advertising that cost businesses money.

Before you start with Meta ads, it helps to know what is not true, however often it gets repeated.

Myth 01

“I need $50 a day before Meta will work at all.”

It might turn out that way, but you will know that after testing, not before. First we check with $20 a day whether the campaign makes sense at all. If it shows a result, we go to $50. If it shows a big result, we go to $5,000. The logic runs the opposite way from what most people tell you.

Myth 02

“A good product video is enough.”

A static sales video that is not cut with any pace does not sell on Meta. People behave emotionally on social platforms and move between pieces of content fast. Average attention is 1.7 seconds before they scroll on. Content has to be made for the platform, not lifted off it.

Myth 03

“I need 3 months to see whether Meta works.”

The biggest lie agencies sell, and I know why. Three months is three monthly fees, enough time to bury the absence of a result. The reality: within 10 days you can see whether there is a signal. Everything past that is stalling.

Strategy

When Meta, when Google, when both.

Nobody needs to be on both platforms simply because “everyone runs both”. The right choice depends on your product, your budget and who you are selling to.

Facebook · Instagram

Go with Meta when

  • Google does not have enough search volume for your product or service
  • You are building awareness of a brand, a new product or a new service
  • You have a clear audience you can target by interest
  • You have, or can produce, good visual and video content
  • Your product sells through the eye, an emotional and impulsive purchase
Search · Performance Max

Go with Google when

  • There are concrete searches with transactional intent
  • Your product or service solves an urgent problem (towing, a plumber)
  • The customer arrives with a clear need, not with “maybe I need this”
  • Your budget is limited and you can only afford high intent traffic
Meta and Google in sync

Go with both when

  • Your budget can carry it (as a rule of thumb, at least €1,000 a month on ads)
  • Your product works both in a high intent context (Google) and a demand generation one (Meta)
  • You want steady growth across channels instead of depending on one
  • You are ready for more involved measurement (GA4 and CAPI are a must)
The technical wall

Why Meta and Google both claim they brought the sale.

The problem
Instagram
Sees the ad, does not click
Google
Searches the brand, clicks, buys
Meta“That sale is mine”
vs
Google“That sale is mine”

The client looks at both platforms and cannot work out why the numbers do not match the actual revenue.

The fix

Conversions API, server side tracking

CAPI sends conversion data straight from the server rather than through the browser. On every account, without exception.

  • Conversions are tracked even when someone blocks cookies
  • iOS 14.5+ restrictions have far less effect
  • The data is more accurate and more consistent

For clients running both Google and Meta, I use external attribution tools that sit outside the pixel models, which settles the endless argument between the two platforms.

The technical foundation

Every platform working in sync.

Take Meta advertising on its own, then move the same budget into a system where Google Ads, Meta and GA4 exchange data through CAPI and Tag Manager, and the result typically improves by 30 to 50%, with no extra budget.

Meta on its own is a car without navigation. With GA4 and CAPI you get the full view: which creative led to the sale, not just who clicked.

  • CAPI server side tracking on every account
  • Audience sync between Meta and Google Ads
  • An external attribution model that bypasses the pixel

Targeting first, creative second

The right face at the right moment

People behave emotionally on social platforms and move between pieces of content fast. Average attention is 1.7 seconds before they scroll on.

Content has to be made for the platform and for the person watching. I have partners for vertical video production if you need them.

  • Vertical format (9:16) for Stories and Reels
  • UGC style often beats a plain or static visual
  • A hook inside the first 1.7 seconds (average attention)
  • Carousel for product ranges and for explaining things

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Meta advertising

Is there a minimum budget for a Meta campaign?

There has to be enough spend for the algorithm to learn and for testing to mean anything. Below that line the campaign becomes guesswork rather than strategy. Where the line sits depends on your market and your goals, and we set it on the first call.

Do I need my own content team?

Not necessarily. I work with someone who produces UGC and video, and I can connect you if you need it. That is a separate cost, agreed before we start. If you already have a team, I work with them directly.

Do you only run Facebook, or Instagram as well?

Every Meta platform runs through the same Ads Manager: Facebook feed, Instagram feed, Reels, Stories, Messenger, WhatsApp. The strategy decides which placements make sense for your goal. I never take “Facebook only”, I give the algorithm room to find conversions where they are.

What if Meta rejects my ad?

It happens often and it is usually fixable. There is a clear appeal process. Meta rejects a lot of ads automatically, but once an appeal goes in with context, plenty come back approved. I have been through this many times and it is part of the standard service.

Do you guarantee a result?

No. Nobody serious can, unless they have run an identical business in the same environment. What I guarantee is availability, commitment and a systematic approach. Everything else depends on too many variables to promise up front.

Can we work on brand building alone, without expecting sales?

We can, as long as we are clear about what that means. Awareness campaigns are cheaper per impression but they do not bring direct revenue. I only suggest this to businesses with a long term strategy who understand the difference between the discovery phase and the buying phase.
